Dr. Awais Malik, MD

Dr. Malik is a board-certified family medicine physician with over 15 years of practice and experience in teaching. Dr. Malik is an attending physician at Yale New Haven Hospital, Bridgeport Hospital and Norwalk Hospital.

Program Overview

Bridgeport Family Medicine is an outpatient primary and urgent care facility located in the heart of Bridgeport, Connecticut. The facility offers:

• Full-scope family medicine and primary care 

• Same-day appointments for walk-in and urgent care needs

• Community involvement and outreach 

• Physical exams

• Travel vaccines

• Drug testing for DOT, immigration, schools and colleges 

• Specialization in tick-borne diseases including Lyme, Babesia, Ehrlichia and Bartonella

• Hands-on outpatient American healthcare experience

Participants who complete the observership will receive a certificate of completion and a letter of recommendation from the preceptor.

Our Externs:

• See and manage patients with their preceptor

• Learn on a state-of-the-art Electronic Medical Record

• Improve Physical Examination skills

• Improve Patient Note taking skills

• Improve history taking skills

• Learn to perform EKG, Phlebotomy, PFTs and UA

• Discuss Family Medicine topics and the latest guidelines on a daily basis

   D) USMLE Score Reports or Transcript*

        *Not Required - used to gauge strength of candidacy

   E)  Copies of your passport and valid US Visa*

        *If you do not currently hold a U.S. visa, we offer a service to provide embassy support letters for individuals whose credentials support potential acceptance into our program. This service is available for a separate fee of $149. Please note that receiving a support letter does not guarantee visa approval, as the final decision rests with the U.S. Department of State and the Department of Homeland Security".. 

3) After all paperwork is received. We will make our decision based on your credentials and offer your a preliminary acceptance and schedule for your rotation. 

4) Once you accept your offer, full payment will be required and you will receive an official acceptance letter and scheduled for your approved rotation.

• $999 per 4 week rotation

• There is a 25% discount for each subsequent month

• The price includes that of your rotation as well staffing and administrative efforts put into preparing and conducting your clinical rotation.
